iF packaging award
We are pleased to say that Okis media design prevailed at this year’s iF Communication Design Awards with the corporate packaging design for GL1.
A jury of international experts assembled by iF discussed and judged 203 contributions by 114 participants from 24 countries. 59 entries impressed the five jurors and received a 2011 iF Packaging Award. “We were able to identify many new technological approaches, which is particularly exciting,” said the experts. “We saw an impressive range of contributions from a wide variety of fields. The way that the culturally very distinct Asian designs were dealt with was particularly interesting, as naturally these are created in a very different way to European packaging,” the jury continued. With this international participation, the jurors were presented with an excellent overview of current trends in international packaging design – from the packaging material right through to packaging technologies.
For the jury, in addition to the evaluation criterion of design quality, other aspects such as processing, choice of materials, level of innovation, environmental compatibility, functionality, ergonomics, visualisation of use, safety and brand value/branding were all significant features that came under examination.
The iF awards are handed out by independent juries made up of internationally respected designers, entrepreneurs and professors in accordance with strictly defined criteria. The winners are able to promote their products with the iF Award logo as an internationally recognised symbol and use it as a seal of approval for the quality of their design work. The online exhibition of winners will be available to view from 18 March on www.ifdesign.de.
